Prairie School, Part Deux

Last year, we did a homeschool field trip to the One-Room Schoolhouse, and had a great time. This year, the family who organized it chose a different location: a church built by Norwegian settlers in 1906. Again, several homeschool families dressed up in period costume and had a day of 1880's style school. We read from Macguffey Readers, did math on slates with chalk, made dipped candles, pressed cider, and learned about native plants.

This year, Abi didn't participate as she was an emotional mess today. When she won't talk to us in the morning, we know something is off. So she stayed with Daddy, and listened to narrated movies.
