For months, we have felt like we're in survival mode. Getting used to having four kids, dealing with Abi's adjustment and neediness, going to doctors and dentists and surgeons, waiting for the weather to turn... all of it seemed like we were hanging on by our fingernails.
Until now.
The weather HAS turned, and spring is here. The surgery decision is made and the shower of appointments has slowed to a trickle. Abi has more good days than bad days in a given week, knock on wood.
Although we're coming from a huge deficit, it feels like we're finally headed toward the plus side, the place where life is not always a huge struggle, where kids are fun, and where I don't go to bed dreading tomorrow. We're not entirely there yet, but we're headed that way.
